Oxidation Catalysts and SCR Catalysts
Modern heavy-duty vehicle and machinery silencers contain a significant amount of exhaust aftertreatment technology, including sensors, catalysts, and diesel particulate filters.
Catalysts are responsible for removing carbon monoxide and nitrogen oxides from exhaust gases. The oxidation catalyst removes CO emissions and supports the regeneration and cleanliness of the DPF. The DPF filters fine particulate matter from the exhaust stream. SCR catalysts reduce nitrogen oxides (NOx) into harmless nitrogen found naturally in the atmosphere, using urea injection and exhaust heat.
